Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does it take for my calendar to update?
A: Your calendar syncs automatically every 3 hours. Location spans
appear immediately when you first publish. Busy blocks for the first
30 days appear within minutes. The remaining 60 days fill in during
the first background sync.
Q: My location is wrong for a certain date. How do I fix it?
A: Open the add-on in Google Calendar, go to Edit Locations, find
the date, type the correct city, and hit Save All Locations. The
correction will appear in your shared calendar on the next sync.
Q: Can I control who sees my calendar?
A: Yes. Only people you share the link with can subscribe. If you
want to revoke access, delete the "Shared Location Calendar" from
your Google Calendar — it will disappear from all subscribers'
calendars within 24 hours.
Q: Will my friends see my event titles or details?
A: No. Friends only ever see "Busy" blocks and a daily location
label like "📍 New York, NY". No titles, descriptions, attendees,
or any other event information is ever shared.
Q: How do I change which calendars are included?
A: Open the add-on and tap "Edit Calendar Selection". Toggle
calendars on or off. Changes take effect on the next sync.
Q: How do I delete all my data?
A: See the Opt Out page for full instructions.
Q: The add-on shows an error. What should I do?
A: Try closing and reopening the Google Calendar sidebar. If the
problem persists, contact us at the email below.
Q: Can I use this on mobile?
A: The add-on setup runs in the Google Calendar desktop browser.
Your shared calendar is viewable on any device including mobile.
Q: What happens after 90 days?
A: The calendar always covers the next 90 days from today. As each
day passes, a new day is added at the end automatically on the next
sync.
